Tractor-trailer hits dump truck, overturns on I-20 in Atlanta’s Southside Perimeter
ATLANTA, GA – Authorities responded to a rollover crash involving two trucks Monday morning on Interstate 285 in southeast Atlanta, reports FOX 5 Atlanta.
The wreck occurred between Jonesboro Road and Moreland Avenue, in the city’s South River Gardens area, shortly after 7:30 a.m.
An early investigation indicates a tractor-trailer struck an eastbound dump truck, which caused it to roll over onto the westbound highway.
Motorists were warned that three eastbound lanes and two westbound lanes would remain closed as crews attended to the scene. Interstate 20 was recommended as an alternate route.
Local agencies have not confirmed any injuries or hospitalizations following the incident, but at the time of FOX 5 Atlanta’s report at 8:21 a.m., the overturned truck remained on its side, and barrier wall damage had been reported.
It’s unclear whether anyone is expected to be charged or cited.
