Truck Collision Shuts Down Second St. Bridge in Macon
MACON, GA โ Georgia Department of Transportation engineers have shut down Second Street Bridge until further notice due to a truck collision that happened last Friday, April 4.
WGXA TV said a driver of an equipment truck slammed into the overpassโ support beams, compromising the structural integrity of the bridge. The east and westbound lanes have been shut down. However, commuters can take Riverside Drive.
Officials have not disclosed the events leading to the crash or said if anyone was injured.
