Update: 1 Hurt, 1 Injured as Cars Collide, Catch on Fire in Smyrna
SMYRNA, GA โ SMYRNA, GA โ One driver collided head-on with another vehicle, causing both vehicles to catch on fire in the West Village area Tuesday, leading to one death and injuring another.ย
New details from Atlanta News First indicate this crash happened around 3:30 a.m. Prior to the driver crashing head-on into the second vehicle, they were traveling north on South Cobb Drive and went over a median on the southbound lanes of Cobb.ย
The first driver who went over the median perished, while the second driver suffered minor wounds.ย
Smyrna Police closed the intersection of South Cobb and South Cobb Industrial Boulevard and lanes along Calibre Lake Parkway to accommodate the standard scene clearance and investigation process.ย ย
Officers did not release the age and genders of the deceased and injured victim nor disclose contributing factors behind this wreck.
