Vehicle overturns, blocks part of westbound I-285 near Sandy Springs

FULTON COUNTY, GA – A rollover crash early Wednesday afternoon closed multiple lanes on westbound Interstate 285 near Sandy Springs, according to Triple Team Traffic.

The accident happened on the outer loop of the interstate, at Exit 24 to Riverside Drive. It was first reported at 12:34 p.m., when the four left westbound lanes had already been shut down.

It was not immediately apparent what caused the vehicle to overturn or whether another vehicle was involved, but motorists were asked to avoid the scene by taking I-85 southbound to I-75 northbound.

Footage captured at the scene shows slow-moving traffic in both the inner and outer loops of the westbound interstate.
