Update: Arrest Made After Fatal Motorcycle Crash in Gainesville
GAINESVILLE, GA – Georgia State Patrol arrested a 57-year-old woman after failing to yield and causing a fatal motorcycle crash Tuesday.
According to new details from Accesswdun75, the woman, a Gillsville resident, faces second-degree vehicular homicide and was booked into the Hall County Jail. She is currently held there without bond.
The collision took place at 7:45 a.m. at Old Cornelia Highway and Jesse Jewell Parkway. Georgia State Patrol said the woman, who drove a Chevrolet Suburban, turned directly in front of the motorcyclist. The two vehicles made contact, and the motorcyclist fell from his bike.
EMS crews rushed the motorcyclist to Northeast Georgia Medical Center, where he later died. GSP later identified him as a 54-year-old man, a teacher, and a baseball and softball coach at East Hall High School.
