Update: Valdosta PD Confirms More Details About Deadly Pursuit-Crash
VALDOSTA, GA – Local police confirmed more details with regards to a pursuit-turned-crash that ended in taking the life of a 23-year-old man Saturday.Â
Police told WALB that the 23-year-old man, from Fayette, Missouri, was driving a White Ram truck when officers pulled him over at the intersection of Baytree Road and JerryÂ
Jones around 2 a.m. Officers said they attempted to stop the man for reckless driving. The man declined to listen to authorities and kept driving, which prompted a pursuit.
The chase ended when the Missouri man crashed his pickup truck at the 2100th block of Jerry Jones Drive. The driver and his dog with him perished as a result.
The victim’s family has been notified of his passing.
